Happy Spring!

Even though our weather feels more like its winter, we still are full of warmth and sunshine!  Here are some photos of our awesome second graders working on graphing- with jelly beans, and going on an egg hunt with their 4K buddies!  

Discovery World

What a wonderful field trip we had!   We got to explore Discovery World and see a lot of interesting exhibits:   The aquarium, the bed of nails, a ship, and the technology exhibit!   Take a look at our pictures!   

Discussing our Reading & 'Going Public' with Our Earth Inquiry projects!

Second graders in Room 213 have been working hard on our informational reading and writing!   We started our 'Rug Clubs.'  Students have meaningful conversations within a small group & share new learnings, questions, and interesting information about what they've read!   

We also shared our awesome posters on our Earth topics with other classes!   Some of posters had interesting facts and non-features about glaciers, islands, volcanos, gulfs, rivers, and oceans!

Writer's Workshop & Readers Theatre

The second graders in Room 213 have been working hard on publishing their narrative stories!   Mr. Kelly helped us by using the  Book Creator app.   We can't wait to share our books with you on iTunes!   

The of our reading groups performed a Readers Theatre this week !   They did an awesome job reading fluently, paying attention to punctuation, and using expression when reading their parts!   

'Monster' Book Fair & Penny Wars!

Room 213 created an awesome door for the door decorating contest!   Our title was 'Our love for reading is MONSTROUS!'   The second graders created their own monster and wrote about a book they LOVE and why they love that book.  

During math, part of our work today was counting all the money in our container for our school PENNY WAR!   How much do we have?  .....
